OPEN POSITIONS

Traffic/Production Manager
Reports to Associate Director of Creative Services
FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

Collaborative, dynamic Creative Services Department seeks self-motivated creative-driven Traffic/Production Coordinator. Enter into our exciting fast-paced environment and enjoy immediate creative gratification from a breadth of projects in the alcoholic beverage category. This diverse role encompasses a broad spectrum of creative projects and is a perfect fit for a person who values quality craftsmanship, accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the flat artwork production and printing of Creative Services Department.
• Supervise and mentor Creative Services Coordinator
• Manage and conduct pre-production meetings with print suppliers
• Manage and grow relationships with print suppliers
• Manage efficient flow of flat artwork project planning, workflow, quality control, and logistical coordination
• Prepare files for release to printer including: internal trafficking, final file preparation, disk burning
• Manage and brief production designers for flat artwork: ensure art is built to specification for project pricing, ensure artwork is correct including all information text, color callouts and label sizing
• Approve printer proofs
• Approve color draw-downs
• Attend press checks
• Provide logistical support to Creative Services Department
• Manage internal and external traffic of flat artwork process—track and schedule flat art projects-- monitor progress of flat art, make revisions to flat art and attend Marketing Deliverables meetings.
• Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, quality control and timely delivery of final products.
• Manage artwork archival library
• Work directly with Project Management, Production and Compliance departments

Qualifications & Requirements:

• BA in Graphic Arts and a minimum of 3 years of experience in print production
• At least 2 years experience with packaging in CPG environment
• Strong experience with offset lithography, flexography, digital print production and press checks
• Strong knowledge of color management and matching
• Proven success in managing relationships with vendors
• Requires expert knowledge in CS4 (Apple Platform), Microsoft Office, mechanical artwork construction, and press checks.
• Strong proven skills of project traffic management within a Creative Department
• Must be able to effectively manage and mentor Creative Services Coordinator
• Must be able to build mechanical art in Adobe Illustrator
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
• Solid to expert knowledge of printing process, and be able to pre-flight, collect files and archive materials.
• Critical thinking and complex problem solving and time management skills
• Artistic sensibility—knowledge of design, typography, color composition and varied print techniques a must.
• Superior organizational and planning skills
• Exceptional proofreading and analytical skills
• Proven ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple, concurrent projects
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Solid documentation skills including specifications, quotations, purchase orders and schedules
