Our Management Team
Peter Byck, co-founder, CEO & President ( peter@wineryexchange.com )
Mr. Byck co-founded Winery Exchange after serving as VP of Strategy & Business Development for Golden State Vintners, formerly one of the largest vineyard and winery owners in California. Mr. Byck holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Computer Science and Math from the University of California at Davis. He was raised in Sonoma County in the heart of California's wine country, and his family owns and operates Paradise Ridge Winery in Santa Rosa, CA.
Phil Hurst, co-founder, SVP Sales ( phil@wineryexchange.com )
Mr. Hurst co-founded Winery Exchange after serving as VP of International Sales at GSV, where he developed and managed $10 million in international sales and distribution. Prior to GSV, Mr. Hurst was International Winemaker for Brown Forman (BF), a leading international wine & spirits company. Mr. Hurst holds a BS in Fermentation Science from the University of California at Davis.
Michael Cimino, SVP Sales and Marketing ( michael.cimino@wineryexchange.com )
Prior to joining Winery Exchange, Mr. Cimino held multiple senior level management positions in the wine and spirits industry. These included VP and COO for Wine Warehouse, CEO of Skyy Vodka, founder of sparkling grape juice brand, UVA UVA, and Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for Rutherford Wine Company. Mr. Cimino holds a BS in Industrial Management from Marquette University and an MBA from St. Mary’s College.
John Crean, co-founder, CFO & VP Business Development ( john@wineryexchange.com )
Prior to co-founding Winery Exchange, Mr. Crean was VP of Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan. While at J.P Morgan, Mr. Crean developed an investment banking practice for the California wine industry, and directed the bank's involvement in GSV's public offering. Mr. Crean holds an MBA from The Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, and a BA from Yale University.
Oliver Colvin, SVP Operations & General Counsel ( oliver.colvin@wineryexchange.com )
Prior to joining Winery Exchange, Mr. Colvin was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Silicon Valley Bank. Prior to Silicon Valley Bank, Mr. Colvin was a partner in the Palo Alto law firm of Fthenakis & Colvin. Mr. Colvin holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis, a JD degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law, and an LL.M. degree in Securities Regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
